Helmut Newton, Portrait of Charlotte Rampling (1973), 1989
Our latest exhibition is a selection of striking Helmut Newton nudes from his 1978 ’Special Collection Series’. We are very fortunate to have acquired a selection of the best signed works from this series
Newton began as a fashion photograher securing commssions for Vogue, with which he continued an ongoing relationship establishing a particular style marked by erotic, stylised scenes, often with sado-masochistic and fetishistic subtexts. Over a career spanning five decades, Helmut Newton has become regarded as one of the world's leading photographers.
A prolific image maker and genuine visionary – whose daring work bought him both fortune and notoriety – Helmut Newton continues to prove a major influence on modern photography and visual art.
